Acute Medicine Good Hope Hospital staff nurse opportunities.

Then AMU/MAU/SDEC is the place for you. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team as well as liaising with other departments and facilities, both in the hospital and community services to transfer patients to speciality areas and discharge destinations.
We have 4 units with a mixture of assessment areas and short stay beds. You will learn to take care of acutely unwell patients with complex needs within a young dynamic team. You will gain valuable experience in assessing new patients referred to the hospital by community services, as well as becoming a highly skilled nurse within our team. The trust has a well-established preceptorship program as well as we run a tailored in house training day to help you settle in to your new job.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for safe, compassionate person-centred evidence based nursing that respects and maintains dignity and human rights. They will be responsible for assessment of care needs of patients and planning programmes of care, implementation and the evaluation of these programmes without direct supervision. They will be responsible for supporting and supervising junior members of staff and students on the ward.
They will be required to work as part of a team although have the clinical skills and knowledge to work independently when required using safe and effective judgement skills.
The post holder will practice in a holistic, non-judgmental, caring and compassionate manner that avoids assumptions, supports social inclusion and recognises and respects individual choice and acknowledges diversity. They will work in partnership with other health and social care professionals, students and trainees and agencies, service users, their careers and families. The post holder will contribute to the practice development within their clinical care setting and work in accordance with Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines and will be responsible for completing any work-based training associated with the role.

*Evidence of professional and clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level leading to Professional registration on the appropriate part of the NMC register i.e. ( Adult / Child / Learning Disability or Mental Health)
*Evidence of undergraduate education for newly qualified nurses / or post graduate continuing professional development for registered nurses who have post registration experience
Experience

*Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary health and care setting (can include undergraduate student placements within the last 12 months)
