Job Summary:

The Retail Trainer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for team members at Haffner’s convenience stores. By traveling to the different stores this role will equip associates with the necessary retail skills to provide exceptional customer service and enhance the shopping experience. The Retail Trainer will develop a comprehensive training curriculum, deliver hands-on and online training, and ensure adherence to company procedures and best practices in customer engagement. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization by shaping the learning experiences that drive employee and organizational success.


Essential Duties:

  • Design and develop a comprehensive retail training curriculum.
  • Create and deliver hands-on demonstrations and online training modules on best practices.
  • Conduct regular assessments and performance evaluations to identify training needs and areas for improvement.
  • Integrate customer service and communication training into retail programs, emphasizing customer relationship building.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct needs analysis and identify knowledge gaps, using feedback to design targeted learning solutions.
  • Utilize proven instructional design methodologies to create engaging and interactive learning materials in various formats, including in-person, e-learning modules, videos, and job aids.
  • Create and curate learning content, such as presentations, quizzes, assessments, and multimedia elements, to support diverse learning styles.
  • Design training programs on topics such as customer service, product knowledge, POS systems, inventory management, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Facilitate in-store training for hands-on experience and practical application of skills.
  • Demonstrate and teach upselling and cross-selling techniques to enhance sales.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve training programs.

Technical Skills and Certifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in training or managing a store.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the convenience store industry preferred.

 

Compensation:
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications. For the purpose of this role, the minimum salary opportunity is:
PAY $70,000 / year.


Salary: $70,000.00 - $95,000 per year


Job Environment:

The Retail Trainer role generally requires the following duties to be performed, without restrictions: the ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; stand, walk, drive, and exercise fine motor skills. Hearing and vision must meet standards for state driver’s licensing. Ability to travel to all Haffner’s retail locations when required.
