Patient Allocation Coordinator - Per Diem - Variable

Job Summary

Under the direction of the manager and Nurse Supervisor, the Patient Allocation Coordinator(PAC ) controls all patient bed assignments. The PAC monitors admissions in the Emergency departments within MVHS and assigns the admission bed location.They also assign internal transfer bed assignments and facilitate patient intake from outside facilities for all services offered within MVHS.

Core Job Responsibilities

• 40% - Bed assignments for the Emergency department admissions
• 30% - Bed assignments for patients coming from outside facilities
• 20% - Arrange accepting physician for transfers from outside facilities
• 10% - Patient Confidentiality- The PAC adheres to the rules and regulations set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act including but not limited to : accessing EMR, entering referrals, transferring and discharging patients.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required: 

• High School diploma or GED

Preferred: 

• EMTALA  Education
