The Park Lab at Duke University in the Department of Pathology is looking for a Postdoctoral Associate to join our team. This position will work under the supervision of the PI to study molecular mechanisms of human epithelial cancer development.
In this role, you will be part of the mission to share our resources and facilitate collaborations aimed at conducting research on the following: new small molecule inhibitors for human cancer; the development and advancement of preclinical human cancer models using primary human cells; and the investigation of human cancer differentiation factors.
Daily, just some of the activities you will engage in include:
- Carrying out independent research under the Principal Investigator's (PI) supervision.
- Possessing advanced cancer and molecular biology skills, such as high-throughput sequencing data analyses.
- Recording, analyzing, interpreting, and assessing research findings.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior lab staff, including graduate students.
- Writing and developing manuscripts, articles, reports, protocols, and abstracts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Attending and presenting research findings at scientific conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Preparing grant/fellowship proposals to secure career development awards.
- Assisting the Principal Investigator in preparing grant proposals to secure funding for research.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Requirements:
At a minimum, applicants for this position must have a PhD degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology or a closely related field.
