As a Rice Creek based Senior Engineering Program Manager in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, you’ll take the lead in managing cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time/budget, within scope, and aligned with strategic business goals.

Your primary program will be managing a multi-year site shutdown and manufacturing line replication/transfer for a portfolio of pharmaceutical and combination device products. Your primary interfaces will be Rice Creek Pharma Operations/Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Ear Nose & Throat Operating Unit, and Global Ops/Supply Chain.

In this role, you’ll oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering programs, from initial planning and resource allocation to execution and delivery. Your leadership will be critical in coordinating efforts across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other key functions to achieve project milestones and deliver innovative solutions to our customers. As our customer portfolio continues to grow and evolve, our program managers often get to interface with numerous businesses across Medtronic. Some examples include Diabetes, Cardiac Rhythm Mgmt., Cardiac Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat, Neurovascular, and Surgical.

Additional responsibilities may include leading other programs in promoting Rice Creek engineering/manufacturing capabilities, exploring new technologies, and supporting other initiatives across the Twin Cities campus.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the assigned program.

  • Leads goal setting and cross functional alignment. 

  • Leads efforts in resource planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and reporting for assigned program.

  • Coordinate and communicates with a strong network of stakeholders spanning multiple functions, levels, and organizations within Medtronic.

  • Execute a consistent, predictable communication plan across the cross functional teams, customers, and stakeholders. 

  • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.

  • Oversees the conceptualization of new methodologies, technologies, materials, machines, processes or products.

  • Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of the program.

  • Facilitate proper project completion, closure, and lessons learned.

  • Support general PMO initiatives related to business process improvements and continuous improvements.

  • Provide coaching/mentorship to engineering staff interested in the program management career track. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience.

Nice to Have

  • PMP Certification

  • MBA or other advanced degree

  • 10+ years working in medical device (highly regulated) environment. 

  • Experience with site transfers and/or medical device manufacturing

  • Pharmaceutical and/or combination device development and manufacturing experience

  • Familiarity with Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM)

Travel

  • Approximately 10% travel annually
