Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspectors at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Houston, TX

 

 

Manufacturing and Construction positions pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $16.00 per hour  
• Schedule: 2nd shift Monday-Friday 4:00 pm - 12:30 am

The Pallet Inspector I is responsible for inspecting and separating CHEP pallets that are in need of repair andplacing them on the palamatic line ready to be picked up by the forklift in a manner that meets companystandards for safety, security, and productivity, in addition to adhering to CHEP's quality criteria.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing environment preferred

• Ability to comprehend basic math

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Able to work within a diverse work environment

• Highly thorough and dependable

• Must be punctual and have a good attendance record

• Performs work independently with minimal supervision

• Possesses a high degree of initiative

• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure

• Ability to

  • Work independently and as a member of a team

  • Be a team player

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Operate power equipment in a safe manner
  • Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs

  • Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis

  • Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements

  • Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)

Responsibilities

• Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator:
  • Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner thatmeets company safety standards
  • Manually lift 70lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; in addition lift the pallets for inspectionand separation utilizing the palamatic machine
• Quality:
  • Ensure that proper inspection and separation is met
• Inventory:
  • Conduct physical inventories as required
