Purpose

This position will be a member of a team that provides administrative support to the Human Resources staff. The primary responsibilities will be to act as first point of contact for Human Resources and provide clerical support for the HR Service Center unit.


Responsibilities

  • Serves as a first point of contact for Human Resources clients by providing appropriate customer service while exercising tact, diplomacy and discretion. This will include assigning inquires to the appropriate unit within Human Resources using a ticketing system and answering general inquiries from clients.
  • Supports the HR Office Manager with administrative tasks and the Director of the HR Service Center. While exercising initiative and judgment, routine administrative duties will potentially include updating the Human Resources website, composing correspondence, processing documents involving sensitive time lines, data entry to confidential databases, calendaring, and updating website information.
  • Assists with unit educational presentations including maintaining associated educational materials, calendaring rooms, communication with attendees, and updating the employee training management system information.
  • Supports Human Resources operations through compliance of the University record retention and financial policies related to documents within Human Resources.
  • Communicates and collaborates on ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. One year of full-time equivalent applicable experience may be substituted for each thirty semester hours of college credit earned, or vice versa however, a minimum of one year of applicable experience is required.
