THE ROLE

The People Operations (HR) Generalist is recognized as a strong support role to the entire FC team. As a People Operations Generalist, you will be expected to build positive relations with Thrive Market employees. This position carries out HR responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and payroll. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations; periodically conduct audits
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollments, cancellation, or changes
  • Perform detailed timecard reviews to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Oversee site leave of absence processes  
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, coordinate requirements with local temporary staffing agencies; conduct exit interviews 
  • Maintain HRIS records, and employee roster, and compile reports as necessary 
  • Investigate harassment and discrimination claims and resolve conflict 
  • Participate in employee appreciation events, employee engagement, volunteering, and site cultural events
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiencies of value-added services performed
  • Maintain and process all unemployment notices and represent the company for local unemployment claims
  • Monitor punctuality and absenteeism reports and ensure proper documentation is issued; handle and track corrective action counseling
  • Update, monitor, and maintain eligible salary adjustments and/or increases
  • Report, maintain, and monitor all workers' compensation case files; follow up on open cases
  • Assist in the preparation of and facilitate training programs
  • Work with management to establish and maintain a positive work environment that encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities 
  • Perform other duties with flexibility as assigned
  • May require 50-55 hour work weeks during busy times
  • Flexible to working night shift

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/business-related field  
  • Minimum of 3-4-years progressive experience with basic practices and principles of Human Resources
  • Experience in distribution, fulfillment (eCommerce), and manufacturing is a must with multiple shifts and a large hourly population 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a team environment, providing honest, direct feedback, and history as a solid communicator 
  • History of an ability to handle ambiguity, changing priorities, and good judgment in stressful situations
  • Track record of exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, structured, accurate, result-driven, ready to improve, and open to change
  • Prior experience with MS Office, Google, HRIS, and payroll systems
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
