Senior Designer – HID Account Design

Job Description

Work Arrangement 

This role is categorized as remote or hybrid to Warren, MI or Sunnyvale, CA or Mountain View, CA. Remote candidates will be considered. 

• If you live within 50 miles of a GM hub location (San Francisco Bay Area, CA or Warren, MI), you are expected to report to the office three times per week, or other frequency dictated by the business. 

• If you live outside a 50mile radius of these locations, please still apply.  

This role requires  

• 5+ years of product design experience across web and mobile, with clear examples of shipping products at scale and taking end-to-end ownership of design outcomes

• Proven ability to operate as a strategic, systems-level thinker

• Adaptability and ease in navigating ambiguity to shape high-impact north star experience vision

• Exceptional craft and execution skills, demonstrated through consistent high-quality interaction and visual work, with deep fluency in Figma

• A strong taste and judgment, with a clear sense of what to include, what to refine, and what to leave out

• Evidence of original and critical thinking, with the ability to clearly articulate and own design points of view

• A collaborative, low ego mindset paired with strong conviction—open to feedback and iteration, while able to take a stand and own decisions when alignment is needed

• A designer with strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly explain design rational and trade-offs to cross-functional partners and senior leadership

This role is not for 

• Pixel executors. We’re looking for designers who own problems, challenge assumptions, and shape solutions through deliberate design decisions, whether at the system level or through high-impact incremental details 

• Strategy-only designers or wireframers. This role requires strong craft and the ability to deliver fully resolved, build-ready designs 

• Designers looking for simple or isolated problems. We operate in sophisticated, constraint-heavy ecosystems that require comfort translating technical, business, and system complexity (vehicle platforms, services, hardware dependencies) into clear, Intuitive user experiences 

Nice to have, but not required 

• Experience designing for automotive, connected products, or large-scale ecosystems, or experience working at a world-class technology company 

• Experience with animation & prototyping software like Protopie, Rive, Lovable

Compensation:

• The expected base compensation for this role is: ($106,600-163,400). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
