BWXT’s Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking a Production Support Photo Lab Tech for its Lynchburg, VA location!
As a Production Support Photo Lab Tech, you will be a part of the Production Support Unit (Release/SmartForms/Photo Lab) within the QC department. This is a production driven role supporting components that process in the factory. Extended weekday or weekend hours may be required of this position on a case-by-case basis to support business needs, including call-ins.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Supports production needs and conducts photographs of the components as they go through the manufacturing process.
- Generates and reviews submittals that are provided to the customer representatives.
- Reads, understands, and follows user instructions, operating procedures, and other quality related documents, as required.
- Generates, reviews, and responds to corrective actions, as necessary.
- Performs technical reviews of change request documents, operating procedures, and other quality related documents as necessary.
- Maintains training plans/documentation and trains new employees as needed.
- Supports and completes project as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in a technical field plus two (2) years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma/equivalent plus six (6) years of relevant experience.
- Must possess willingness to advocate for product quality under pressure.
- Must possess excellent attention to detail, experience with overchecks/peer checks, and a commitment to quality.
- Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Must possess strong conflict management and resolution skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with a broad range of individuals and groups, both internal and external, including but not limited to engineers, customer representatives, production control, front line managers, and shop personnel.
- Must possess proven ability to apply experience and skills to complete assigned work within area of expertise as well as for global application. This includes recognizing and solving problems that are encountered at any time.
