Overview
We are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Buyer. This role supports operations through commodity management, procurement of major capital goods and services including source identification and qualification, quoting, and negotiating. Negotiates and/or administers purchase contracts for complex and highly technical items, materials or services. Establishes and maintains a solid working relationship with internal and external customers and vendors.
This postion will sit on EST time zone and requires close location to our Greenwood, SC location for in person meetings.

Responsibilities:
- Research Potential Vendors- Interviews and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Performs research of materials, processes and services in various commodities areas that are used in the manufacturing process to insure purchasing the best quality and at most competitive price. Coordinates the solicitation of vendors and developments new contract formation.
Negotiates Contract / Pricing- Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. Obtains vendor quotes and negotiates pricing. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control associates, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action to resolves purchasing disputes with vendors through effect problem solving and dispute resolution. Utilizes strong contract development, administration and risk management skills. Develops specifications to allow for competitive acquisition of items of a routine nature. Conducts pre-bid conferences and bid openings.
Data Analysis and KPI reporting - utilize Excel and Ariba to create and monitor KPIs for the procurement department to measure effectiveness.
Customer Service- Monitors vendor performance and recommends necessary action to improve performance. Interfacing daily with internal department customers and external vendors, Monitors purchase agreements to affect the greatest savings and insure compliance with rules and regulations.
Other- Interfacing daily with internal department customers and external vendors, coordinates and provides purchasing data for monthly / daily purchasing reporting. Fully utilize SAP functionality in order to perform and understand analysis and reporting. Identifies cost savings opportunities. Effectively works with others within the team to achieve team goals. Effectively communicates with co-workers and supervisor. Performs all additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Follows all Fuji Workplace Guidelines and maintains and adheres to Fuji Safety Policies and Procedures.
Required Skills/Education:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent job experience.
3-5 years SAP/ERP purchasing experience.
Ability to use Excel to analyze data quickly
- Experience in purchasing or project management.
PC skills and appropriate applications.
