Job Description

The Cytotechnologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine screening of specimens, reports result sand documents daily workload records.
• Performs cytological examinations of GYN and non-GYN specimens.
• Evaluates processed specimens form multiple collection devices according to manufacturers’ specifications.
• Performs quality control assessment, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assists with the collection and processing of fine needle aspiration specimens.

Qualifications

Required:

• CT (ASCP) or eligible within one year of employment.
