Head Basketball Coach - High School

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a High School Head Boys Basketball Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coaching our high school boys’ basketball team, helping players develop their skills, compete at a high level, and grow as athletes and individuals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for the high school boys’ team

• Plan and lead structured practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategy

• Provide individualized coaching and constructive feedback to help players refine their technique and understanding of the game

• Foster a positive and disciplined team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development

• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic department staff

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices, games, and team activities

• Oversee game-day preparation, including scouting opponents, developing game plans, and making in-game adjustments

• Coordinate with assistant coaches and support staff to maximize team success

• Attend all team meetings, practices, games, and required school athletic events

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the high school or higher level preferred

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and player development

• Ability to mentor student-athletes and model Christian character consistent with Heritage Christian Academy’s mission and values

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within the school’s athletic program

Requirements

Requirements:

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.

• Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire players.

• Ability to work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and other members of the coaching staff.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games as required.
