BillingCenter Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We are searching for an experienced and certified Guidewire BillingCenter Software Engineer to join Bamboo’s growing Technology team.  In this position, you will be responsible for designing and configuring new and existing features in BillingCenter to support our business.  You will partner with the Guidewire team leads and other Guidewire developers to ensure that any design and implementation choices made support their respective applications.   

To ensure success, you should exhibit strong leadership skills and extensive experience in implementing BillingCenter.  This is a hands on development role and will require up to 50% of your capacity implementing BillingCenter.  Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience as a Lead Software Engineer with at least three years of BillingCenter implementation experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain our BillingCenter application and integration architecture
• Develop new features to support multiple new product/state releases per year, in addition to, regular enhancement and hotfix releases 
• Partner with the DevOps team on establishing AWS CodePipelines
• Assess the business impact that certain technical choices have

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Expertise in RESTful web services architecture
• Experience with implementing BillingCenter and integrating to third party services.  Must have at least Guidewire BillingCenter Certified Specialist or higher certification  
• Programming experience in Java and Gosu

• Experience with Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence to manage tickets across multiple projects
• Ability to organize and facilitate meetings across various stakeholders
• Ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work activities
• Able to provide an environment that encourages and develops new ideas from employees and management peers

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
• At least five years Software Engineer related experience required
• At least two years of BillingCenter implementation experience required
• Advanced knowledge of the full software development life-cycle

Preferred Requirements:

• Property and Casualty Insurance domain knowledge

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary: Starting at $130,000 annually. Candidate's skills, experience and abilities will be taken into consideration for final offer.
