Part-Time Lecturer, Design of Building Structures

The USC School of Architecture invites applicants for a part-time faculty position in Design of Building Structures to lead a structural design and materials course for Fall 2026. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach architectural and structural engineering aspects of building system design on an undergraduate level. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of structural design, the state of the art of structural engineering, conventional and innovative construction materials, building standards, and sustainability performance criteria.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to apply appropriate quantitative analysis techniques, in the context of the architectural and engineering design process. Experience with contemporary digital design software tools is preferred.
The core salary range for this position is $50.75 - $69.79 per hour. This is a part-time, 38.8% position.

Qualifications: A Master of Science degree, or equivalent, and a S.E. and/or P.E. license is required. Preference is given to candidates with a proven track record of research and or related professional work or prior teaching experience at recognized schools of architecture. Preference is given to candidates with a proven track record of professional work.
