We're looking for an Assistant Designer to help grow our Private Label menswear apparel brands. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, collaborative team on a sophisticated range of menswear categories, including heritage workwear, weekend leisurewear, casual outdoors, accessories, and more.
You’ll have hands-on learning experience with all aspects of producing menswear collections, from concept, design, tech packs, fittings, production, and delivery.
You'll be directly assisting and reporting to the Design Director of Apparel and Accessories. Additionally, you’ll work closely with our entire Private Label team, including Product Developers, Brand Managers, Graphic Designers, Buyers, and outside vendors. You’ll work at our Manhattan office 4-5 days per week in a hybrid environment.

You’ll have hands-on learning experience with all aspects of producing menswear collections, from concept, design, tech packs, fittings, production, and delivery.

Additionally, you’ll work closely with our entire Private Label team, including Product Developers, Brand Managers, Graphic Designers, Buyers, and outside vendors. You will:
- Conduct trend and market analysis on competitors, vendors, and retailers to help inform design strategy
- Assist in developing design concepts for seasonal men's apparel lines by researching trends, fabrics, silhouettes etc.
- Create detailed CAD’s, build technical specification documents, BOM’s and tech packs for use in manufacturing
- Attend fit sessions and assist on communicating design amendments
- Organize procurement of seasonal market research materials
- Track, document, and organize active prototype samples
- Measure garments for technical analysis and adherence to spec
- Maintain and build seasonal physical product development boards, files, and material libraries
- Participate in design and merchandising meetings to take notes and document decisions.
- Support Brand Managers in building decks and salesheets with color-ups for each season
- Work out of our New York City office 4-5 days per week
The ideal candidate:
- Has 1+ years of professional design experience specifically in menswear apparel
- Has an elevated design aesthetic, a strong sense of color, and can design in various styles for different brands
- Has a genuine love for product design and gets excited about discovering and helping develop new products
- Ability to quickly ideate with hand sketching
- Has extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite for creating detailed CAD’s in Illustrator, and mocking up designs in Photoshop
- Has a fluent understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Has exceptional attention to detail and well-organized project management skills, and can juggle between multiple projects
- Has a “no task is beneath me” attitude and is excited to wear different hats
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills and is able to collaborate with a diverse range of team members in a hybrid environment

- Starting base salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 per year
