We are currently seeking candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This PositionThe Project Finance Team Member will be a key team member of the broader Capital Markets Team  and will be supporting the team’s efforts in planning, optimizing, executing, and monitoring structured finance transactions, including non-recourse debt, tax equity, portfolio financings, and hybrid facilities. This position will report directly to a Manager on the Project Finance team and work closely with lenders, investors, consultants, attorneys, and internal stakeholders. 
Overview of DepartmentProject Finance falls under the broader Capital Markets Team, and is currently comprised of thirteen members. The team is responsible for capital raising including Tax Equity, Construction Debt, Back-leverage, and other financing products to enable the broader growth of the business.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Own the transaction modeling for one or more ongoing project or hybrid financings, including construction financing, tax equity, back leverage, and hybrid/holdco financings
  • Lead the project's due diligence and coordination, helping parties navigate key project contracts, economic terms, consultant reports, and other third party deliverables
  • Assist in maintaining existing financing structures and ongoing fundings
  • Act as a key team member in valuing IP's development asset portfolio and serve as a subject matter expert in various project forums, including offtake agreement structuring/pricing, EPC/procurement decisions, and development activities.
  • Participate in special projects such as M&A activities, new market entry, new technology financeability/bankability, etc.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or similar quantitative fields
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in Renewables, Power & Utilities, or Infrastructure capital markets
  • Experience with Financial Modeling
  • Experience with US Tax Equity experience a plus
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, with some experience building and maintaining VBA based macros
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders through large, complex processes on aggressive timelines.
  • Candidates with experience in tax-advantaged transactions and structuring or experience working in US Power or Energy Markets will be strongly considered

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: USD$90,000 - $95,000 or CAD$129,000 - $136,000 base salary with 30% annual target bonus
