The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine buildings and grounds maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will have the capability to assess, troubleshoot and repair basic problems with HVAC systems, lighting and electrical systems, and other related equipment.Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs a variety of routine maintenance tasks including but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical and lighting systems, landscaping and snow removal.
- Assists in the cleanliness and functionality of the pool by regularly testing water chemistry, applying necessary chemicals, cleaning the pool and addressing any maintenance concerns.
- Conducts weekly preventative maintenance inspections of facility assets and systems.
- Utilizes maintenance management software to record detailed logs of work performed.
- Assists resort staff with the facility’s recycling program.
- Assists with landscaping, lawncare, snow removal and plowing, as required.
- Assists with custodial tasks, as needed.
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment.
- Operates various company vehicles and equipment (ATV’s snowmobiles, trucks) as necessary to perform job duties.
- Performs other job duties as assigned by manager.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
- High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Experience maintaining a commercial swimming pool, preferred.
- Minnesota Certified Pool Operator certification or ability to obtain.
- CPR/First Aide/AED Certification required or ability to obtain.
- Special Engineer Boiler License or the ability to obtain.
- Ability to travel between locations of the resort. Valid driver’s license required, Class A commercial drivers license, preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of facility maintenance or related experience required.
- Reading and writing work-related documents in English. Ability to read and understand technical manuals, diagrams and instructions.
- Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and coworkers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by guests and coworkers in English.
- Computer proficiency with the ability to use common business software applications such as Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Lifting, carrying and pushing up to twenty-five (25) pound regularly, thirty (30) to fifty (50) pounds frequently, and up to seventy-five (75) pounds occasionally.
- Ability to engage in a wide variety of physical activities including walking, and working on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces including the ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Must be able to work extended hours outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
- Ability to withstand temperature and humidity extremes in indoor environments.
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs dictate.
- Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
