The CIC Security Engineering Team
Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers. We make access to applications safe, secure, and seamless for the more than 100 million daily logins around the world. Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier-Ø global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation.
The Security Engineer Opportunity
Reporting to the Platform Security Manager, this role will ensure that CIC Regulated Platforms meet or exceed the security requirements for FedRamp and other highly regulated frameworks. This role is focused on securing the platforms and pipelines that CIC uses to build and deploy its services.
Required Qualifications
This is an Okta Federal Position and only open to U.S. person Status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refuge, or Asylee)*
What you’ll be doing
- Build and maintain security controls
- Build tooling and automation to make security frictionless for CIC platform engineers
- Develop, document, and implement design patterns, standards and best practices for Regulated Platforms
- Identify gaps in our security posture and prioritize remediation efforts
What you’ll bring to the role
- You have 5+ years of experience in Cloud Security Engineering
- You have 2+ years of experience working in highly regulated environments such as FedRamp
- You have strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP services and security controls
- You have proficiency with at least one of the following languages:
- Python
- Go
- JavaScript
- You have proficiency writing and deploying Terraform code
- You have experience with the identity and access management (IAM) domain
- You have strong written and verbal communication
And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!
- You have experience working with and securing containers and Kubernetes
- You have experience working with a fully distributed, remote team
- You have a robust knowledge of security engineering and application security
This position requires access to controlled unclassified information or other sensitive government data. As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee 22 CFR 120.15) upon hire.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
