Greendale is one of Catalent’s gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers.  Simply put – we make healthy gummies. The Maintenance Supervisor will provide general leadership and direct supervision to maintenance mechanic crew specifically supporting 2nd shift and weekend operations. Train, coach, mentor crew so that they can perform at maximum efficiency. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee all functions involving maintenance of facilities and equipment. Ensure that quality standards are maintained and productivity targets are met. Maintain MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) inventory. Direct employees in proper safety procedures.  Set-up and oversee a preventive/predictive maintenance program. This position will work overnight with initial trainings on day shift.

The Role

  • Responsible for the hiring, development and management of hourly maintenance team members across multiple shifts

  • Mentors maintenance  staff in trouble shooting techniques and project methodology

  • Supports Engineers with ensuring equipment, tooling, and systems needed are operational

  • Proactively analyzes issues in the facility, determines remedies to ensure uptime

  • Coordinate, arrange, and/or supervises the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with manufactures procedures

  • The position is responsible for all technical skills management and development of technician/s

  • Improve reliability, maintenance, and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production as a result of equipment malfunction or failure time

  • Ensure that equipment and facility are maintained in a safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement/ upgrades

  • Assist with developing/improving department relations by continued communication of all information affecting operations

  • Other duties assigned

The Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree and 4+ years experience or HS Diploma/GED and 10+ years experience in industrial maintenance required

  • 3+ years of previous leadership experience required

  • Previous food manufacturing or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience required

  • Previous experience with work order systems (Blue Mountain) preferred

  • Minimum of one trade certification preferred

  • Strong analytical/problem solving/process improvement skills

  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds, infrequently move up to 1000 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
