UFP Site Built is the leader in designing and manufacturing value-added wood and non-wood products for the construction industry. We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and light gauge steel structural components.

We are currently hiring for a Safety and Human Resources Coordinator to join the team at our new location in Tooele, Utah! This is a great opportunity to join a growing team that values hard work, culture and teamwork. The Safety/ HR Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the facility's safety programs and employment-related activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed.
  • Protective equipment is properly used, machine/process guards are in place, etc.
  • Investigates and facilitates the documentation of all accidents and near miss occurrences. 
  • Identifies accident trends and causes and ensures that corrective measures are implemented.
  •  Develops safety recognition programs and incentives as appropriate.
  • Instructs all new employees on job appropriate safety practices.
  • Chairs the plant safety committee.
  • Ensures the facility maintains the proper training in First Aid and CPR.
  • Manages inventory of safety related products including PPE, medical & first-aid supplies, videos, etc.
  • Ensures conduct and certification of forklift training.
  • Coordinates inspection, tours, and visits by other safety and health regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors facility hearing conservation program.
  • Develops alternative work duties for employees on medical restrictions.
  • Maintains appropriate communication with immediate management, corporate, and third-party vendors.
  • Maintains OSHA 300 log and other required documents.
  • Maintains employee personnel records.
  • Coordinates use of temporary employees.
  • Manages the time & attendance system.
  • Assists employees with paperwork, on-line systems, claim processes, etc. related to benefits, employee demographics, disabilities, FMLA, pay, etc.
  • Performs duties related to recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, orientation, etc. 
  • Processes new hire paperwork, forms, etc. and ensures proper maintenance of forms
  • Helps process performance reviews, employment change forms, etc.
  • Prepares various reports and maintains files as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Knowledge Specifications 

  • 2+ Years of Human Resources experience
  • Bilingual, Spanish/English required
  • Must be or become qualified in First Aid and CPR and must develop and demonstrate working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and Company safety policies and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish.
  • Preferred working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
