SENIOR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home

St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Florida

Annual Salary:  $49,960.77

Paid Bi-Weekly:  $1,921.57

(Qualifying shifts are eligible for a $1.00 per hour shift differential)

*Position for Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (SLPN) may include a sign-on bonus of $2,000.00, which will be paid out over a two-year period at 6-month intervals. Restrictions apply. Any employee leaving employment with the agency or moving to OPS prior to that timeframe will forfeit any additional bonus reimbursement. Returning employees must have left the Department for a period of 12 months or more to be ‎eligible for the sign-on bonus.

The FDVA Nursing State Veterans Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.  Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant’s lender.  Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Florida.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
• Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• One (1) year experience providing practical nursing services in a long-term health care environment (nursing home, skilled nursing, or assisted living facility).
• Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications:  Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
