What you’ll do

The Logistics and Parts Management Specialist is responsible for the logistics and provision of assembly parts within the Protype Build to support the manufacturing and testing of prototypes featuring the pioneering Scout design and functionalities. In accordance with the Scout principles, the specialist in this function will contribute to the transfer of Lessons Learned to the later pre-series and series production line. The ideal candidate not only demonstrates deep logistics and material supply know-how, but also data acquisition and curation skills.

  • Elaborate concept for adequate provisioning of parts with appropriate status, ensuring efficient space management and product handling
  • Develop concept for preparing special parts for testing purposes according to specifications
  • Collaborate with involved departments to verify the parts status
  • Initiate spare parts reordering and provision
  • Design the parts provision interface to the inhouse logistics system
  • Set up and optimize processes for systematic parts status documentation
  • Ensure cross-departmental collaboration with involved departments
  • Secure supply of required process materials

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • 5+ years professional experience with expertise in manufacturing engineering, production planning, and/or project management
  • Deep understanding of inventory management, logistics, parts provision, and procurement
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong data acquisition and curation skills
  • Competence to develop effective partnerships and relationships in the cross-functional DV setup
  • Creative and strategic problem solver with sound judgement
