As the Logistics Acquisition Analyst (Program Executive Office) at our Washington, D.C. location around the historic Washington Navy Yard right by Nationals Stadium, you will be part of an integrated government-industry team and be an instrumental part in supporting U.S. Navy acquisitions while building your background and expertise in support of the world’s greatest Navy.

Serco provides support in the area of logistics management to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of critical surface ship systems. This mid-level position will have aspects of defense acquisition logistics management, performance-based logistics, configuration management, government-furnished material management, training support, and related skills across all aspects of integrated logistics support.

In this role you will:

  • Support program office tasking related to providing logistics support to Naval systems. Work will require collaboration with staff from the program office, other contractors, system developer/manufacturer, and government field activities.
  • Help to manage schedules and plans of action related to logistics support. Support the government and contractor team in the execution of program reviews, management of budgets, and coordination with logistics support organizations on behalf of the program office.
  • Support government managers in ILS and management activities related to development, production, and support of Navy systems. Assist in team management of projects, tracking progress against schedules, coordinating accomplishment of actions, coordinating the development of proposed solutions to issues, supporting meetings, and providing analysis of logistics support processes and progress on behalf of the government program management office.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members and work as a team to most-effectively accomplishing program office tasking.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An Active or Current DOD Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree
    • An Associates Degree and 2 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree or a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of experience (Navy Acquisition and Logistics experience highly preferred)
    • Work experience may be adjusted based on an advanced degree such as a Master's Degree.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)/Product Support Management (PSM) elements including Product Support Management, Maintenance Planning and Management, Supply Support, Technical Data, Manpower and Personnel, Training and Training Support, Design Interface, Facilities and Infrastructure, Sustaining Engineering, Computer Resources, Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation, and Support Equipment.
  • Well-developed team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with new acquisition practices such as rapid acquisition, DEV/SEC/OPS, and use of collaboration tools and how these advances impact integrated logistics support in a program management office.
  • Ability to work a Hybrid Schedule (3-4 days in office, 1-2 days telework depending on customer needs)
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience/Knowledge with principles of integrated logistics support (ILS) and work in a team in applying your knowledge and expertise supporting assigned programs throughout their life cycles.
  • Knowledge of the Defense Acquisition process and areas related to integrated logistics support and best practices including Performance-Based Logistics and be able to apply that knowledge to real programs.
  • Experience in collaboration tools such as SharePoint or Teams is desired.
  • Experience in one or more logistics support areas such as configuration management, training support, manpower support, property/GFE management, Performance Based Logistics, supportability, maintenance management, technical data/documentation, supply support/supply chain management, transportation, etc. is desired.
