About the role

Our Loews Hotels & Co Home Office remote teams provide support to all our properties throughout the United States and Canada. Our talented teams provide guidance over strategic planning, operations, revenue management, communications, marketing, finance, human resources, and information technology.

The National Sales, Senior Business Development Manager reports to the Vice President, National Group Sales and is based remotely with the ability to travel up to 5 % for internal meetings .  The position will focus on group business development and will be primarily tasked to identify new accounts that have business potential in Loews markets, but where Loews is not capturing our fair share of the business. The position will also work directly with the properties to identify opportunities and pursue accordingly.

The Senior Business Development Manager’s primary purpose is research, market trend identification and account analytics. This position will not have an active external client communication role, but will funnel up and present new opportunities to Vice President, National Group Sales for further actioning by National Sales Team

The National Sales, Senior Business Development Manager must be both well-versed and savvy in sales systems, including but not limited to Delphi.FDC, Cvent Visibility and other social selling networks.  This position requires excellent communication,  selling skills and will work closely with both the property sales teams for in-market specific accounts and the national sales team for nationally/brand focused account opportunities.

This position will require presentation skills to report quarterly on account performance and penetration, with short and long term goals to ensure success.  All action plans and sales activity will be required to be in Delphi.FDC.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Direct management, oversight and goals (revenue, demand generation, share growth) for identified group accounts.

  • Work within LSO communicaions framework to ensure that the hotels are kept abreast of key market and account trends, production and high-impact sales activities

  • Solicitation savvy with both Loews Sales Tools & Systems as well as other social selling sites

  • National Sales liaison to properties for business development successes and opportunities and action plans moving through the year

  • Collaborate with Commercial Analyst to ensure tracking and measurement of relevant analytics and reporting

  • Development of tactical account identification plans and processes to benefit the brand’s top-line, market share gains and market reputation. 

  • Support revenue generation for new and watch hotels through influence of identified accounts.

  • Bi-weekly (or more or less frequent as needed) review meeting with Executive Director National Accounts to review action plans for identified accounts and next steps

  • Maintain account notes in Delphi

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strategic thinker, skilled in leveraging information and data to organize and craft strategic plans for a new focus market.

  • Ability to change with the needs of the company and assigned hotels.

  • Knowledge of the industry, group business and contacts and marketplaces in which Loews Hotels are represented and seeking to have representation.

  • Keen knowledge of the sales process in order to collaborate with field group sellers and execute on strategy.

  • Ability to travel (5%)

  • Proficiency in Loews Sales Systems, including but not limited to: 

  • Delphi.FDC and Loews Group Opportunity Reports

  • Cvent Visibiltiy

  • Team player with strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with ability to be concise but effective

  • Strong business acumen

  • Self-motivated

  • Ability to integrate and emulate the Loews Culture

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Experience: Hotel Sales experience with 5 years in a sales office environment; Delphi certification preferred
