Southern Industrial is seeking Overhead Crane Repair Tech / Inspector for a maintenance site in Wilmington, NC. This is a 40 hour per week position. 

Essential Functions/Duties:

The expected duties include:

·         Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment for crane models: Coffing, Accu-Wright, and Demag

·         Service overhead crane systems by performing quality installations, performing OSHA/ANSI equivalent inspections, documenting, troubleshooting breakdowns, and responding to repair calls.

·         Be able to work in confined spaces and at heights

·         Ability to operate various mobile equipment such as, forklift, scissor lifts, man lifts, cranes, etc.

·         Troubleshoot variable frequency drive and remote-control systems

·         Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed.

·         Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. is required. Associates Degree is preferred.
  • Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain forklift & aerial certification.
  • Must be able to receive all applicable safety training and certification.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and high voltage motors
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
  • Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status via designated business process.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulation, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety. Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
