**This is inclusive of a .60¢/ hr Institutional Stipend

Job duties:

Under the direction of the Licensed Clinical Social Services Program Manager, in partnership with the Director of Clinical Services, and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include preparing, implementing and overseeing individual and/or group activities for patients; Observing and recording observations related to patients’ attendance, participation level, behavior and progress; and reporting observations to professional staff. Work is performed under general supervision, with clinical oversight.

This is a Monday through Friday position, located at Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center.

Representative Duties Include But Are Not Limited To: (A position may not be assigned all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be assigned):

·         Prepares, implements, and directs individual or group programs and activities under the direction of professional staff in order to promote and support patient treatment and goals.

·         Observes, documents observations, and prepares reports concerning behavior, participation level, and progress in order to provide information to professional staff and support the development of treatment plans

·         Attends multidisciplinary reports and treatment plans

·         Maintains a safe and orderly work area and assists in routine housekeeping as necessary in order to provide a pleasant and safe environment for patients.

·         Stores, inspects, and inventories program supplies, materials, and specialized equipment in order to assure availability and proper maintenance of equipment for program activities.\

·          Accompanies and/or transports patients to activities and programs both on and off facility grounds in order to ensure safe arrival and promote a broad range of experiences

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         A bachelor’s degree in psychology, Sociology, or related field -OR- four (4) years progressively responsible experience in an institution or community based mental health/developmental disabilities program.

·         The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment is critical.

·         Time management skills.

Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving the entire State of Maine that provides services for people with severe mental illness.   As a member of a statewide community of care givers, DDPC collaborates with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, their community and personal supports, to provide recovery-oriented, respectful, compassionate, and effective psychiatric care and treatment in the least restrictive, safest, and most therapeutic environment we can create.
