We are looking for a Production Engineering intern to join our team. The goal of a Manufacturing Engineering intern at Wisk is to ensure that manufacturing processes, equipment, and definition are developed and sufficient to meet design and safety requirements. You will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team that provides Design for Manufacturability input to design, as well as supports production system development and shop floor activities, from prototyping through high rate production.

- With that vision in mind, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. The goal of the Manufacturing Engineering intern at Wisk is to support Manufacturing Engineers, Production Engineers, and Industrial Engineers in developing the Wisk Production system and assess designs for manufacturability and assemblability; identify opportunities for early efficiencies and ways to leverage equipment or automation; and work cross functionally to prototype and develop processes for high rate manufacturing.

- The successful candidate is working towards graduation in an engineering discipline, and has demonstrated hands on capability through personal or school projects. They are open and eager to learning new things, and is proactive in pursuing knowledge and solutions. They are excited to work as part of a team. In this role, the candidate must be proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.
What you will do:
- As part of the production systems organization, and deployed in a manufacturing engineering team, you will act as a manufacturing engineering intern for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
- You will take part in developing the overall production system processes
- You will support cross functional teams made up of manufacturing engineers, design engineers, shop floor technicians, and others to understand the production needs of complex assemblies.
- You will help support problem solving activities in prototyping assemblies.
- You will help coordinate shop floor activities for prototyping assemblies.
- You will take part in cross functional team meetings, creating and progressing tasks in support of the larger goal, and researching various production methods and materials to support design for manufacturability.
What you have done:
- You have worked on various projects that exercise engineering principles.
- You have hands-on experience with solving manufacturing or assembly issues.
- You have experience using CAD software, such as SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, or NX
Desired:
- You are familiar with manufacturing execution systems
- You have hands on experience working with composite materials
- You are familiar with production systems and have exposure to varying production environments

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
- Must be either a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate student in college
- Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
- Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks (full-time 3 months)
- Must be able to work pacific standard time (PST)
