Application Security Engineering Lead

Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking an Application Security Engineering Lead to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!

 

The ideal candidate specializes in gathering requirements to create technical documentation, slide decks, and artifacts to support IT solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Application Security (AppSec) resources to develop a new product using COTS tooling. This role requires experience gathering requirements from technical resources and translating them for customer teams and users. You will have a hand in the development of the AppSec product and associated services. We are designing and implementing a new AppSec program to be integrated with our client’s FISMA systems enterprise-wide.

Required Experience and Education: 

• Five (5) plus years of experience in a Business Analyst or related role, including two (2) or more recent years in a cybersecurity environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering,  or a related field, or an additional two (2) years of industry experience
• Translating between business and technical requirements
• Experience as an IT or cybersecurity product owner
• Experience with SAST, SCA, DAST, IAST, and MAST application security principles
• Experience using the SCRUM framework to lead development teams
• Experience using GitHub to manage projects and repositories

 

Responsibilities

• Develop AppSec design, compliance, and customer usage documentation
• Gather requirements from engineers, developers, and customers
• Develop slide presentations based on design documentation to support customer roadshows
• Manage customer outreach and engagement for the integration of our client’s AppSec product
• Guide customer teams through the tool onboarding process
• Schedule, lead, and document meetings with AppSec customers
• Manage user accounts and permissions for the AppSec tool
• Technical research for architectures and development of strategies, whitepapers, and communications for technical and non-technical audiences
• Take notes and meeting minutes to support our government client
• Support the development of roadmaps for AppSec services
• Evaluate and process incoming data to support decision-making
• Technical and non-technical communication and writing skills
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
