About the role

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development of each assigned DVP's regional business plans, ensuring each aligns with the overall sales plan as developed by the DSM and National Sales Manager (NSM).
  • Coaches and guides the DVPs; provides continuous feedback on performance; holds DVPs accountable for sales production and other specified performance expectations.
  • Continuously analyzes territories to assess market changes, trends or relationship needs. Develops relationships with Centers of Influence (COI) at partner firms.
  • Travels a minimum of 50% of the time, including ride-a-longs with divisional vice presidents and attending distributor events.
  • Maintains a monthly to quarterly “Game Plan” of activities with each DVP. This includes consistent (weekly to bi-weekly) meetings to assess DVP needs and performance against the territory business plan.
  • Builds high performance teams to meet divisional sales goals, removes obstacles for DVPs and serves as their advocate.
  • Work with DVPs to develop skill sets, troubleshoot problem areas and strengthen distribution relationships.
  • Identifies strengths and opportunities for growth/development and recommends courses of action.
  • Works with DVPs on day-to-day activities involving case management, problem resolution and creative sales ideas.
  • Establishes successful relationships with internal clients including but not limited to Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Product, Actuarial and Operations.
  • Keeps an ethical and compliant Division based on company and regulatory standards.
  • Operates the Division on a cost-effective basis within budget as determined by the company.
  • Partners with internal departments to develop and implement sales management tools & best practices.
  • Maintains understanding of key account profiles which includes their size and scope, product mix, trends and challenges.
  • Understands and stays abreast on competitor intelligence which includes market trends, product ideas and performance, compensation and incentives, etc.
  • Attends national meetings, conferences and other key activities or events

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred but not mandatory
  • Expert knowledge of fixed index annuities, all versions of variable annuity products and familiarity with advanced sales concepts
  • Experience working with Independent Broker Dealers
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Must have FINRA Series 6 or 7 and hold or acquire FINRA registration series 24 or 26 within 90 days of start date
  • History of demonstrating strong ethics and compliance mindset
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking with the ability to plan, organize, develop and deliver effective presentations to a targeted audience
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Strong listening skills required. Requires a demonstrated record of initiative, leadership, problem-solving and adaptability
  • 8 + years in the financial services industry
