JOB SUMMARY
Are you a certified pharmacy technician with retail or specialty experience ready to take the next step in your career?  Join UT Southwestern Specialty Pharmacy at 2929 N Stemmons Freeway in Dallas.  Here you'll play a key role in supporting patients with complex therapies by assisting with prescription processing and fulfillment, coordinating prior authorizations and copay assistance, managing specialty medication inventory and ensuring timely, accurate medication delivery or pick up.  You'll get to engage with patients and thrive in a high performing environment where your skills make a difference.  Works under supervision. The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for filling prescriptions, packing, and shipping of products and all other job related services performed in the pharmacy. The Pharmacy technician is also responsible for prior authorizations and timely refill calls to patients.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education
  High School Diploma or equivalent 
   

• Experience
  1 year of experience as retail pharmacy technician or equivalent is required 
   

• Licenses and Certifications
  (PHARM INT) PHARMACY INTERN Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Registered Technician or Pharmacist Intern and 
  (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Certification with course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

  1 year specialty pharmacy experience 
   

• Licenses and Certifications
  (PTCB-CPHT) CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN National certification with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) 
   

JOB DUTIES

• Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing of medications and supplies as allowable by law.
• Answers telephones responding to questions or requests.
• Ensures necessary communications are provided to the customer, such as instructions, side effects and medication descriptions.
• Arranges customer consultations with Pharmacist, when requested.
• Cleans equipment, and maintains all required temperature logs as per corporate Policy and Procedures.
