General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) has a large collection of buildings, trails, roads, and other recreational features that were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC, a federal New Deal program, made improvements in state and national parks from 1933-1942. DCR is starting to prepare for the CCC centennial celebrations in 2033. Under supervision of the Senior Planner, the intern will review the data developed from the 1998 historic resources survey of CCC resources, and working with other DCR databases and information sources, identify and note updated information on resource status and conditions. The intern will also do research on the CCC resources at the Blue Hills Reservation, located in Quincy, Milton, Canton, and Randolph, as the CCC resources at this property were not captured in the 1998 historic resources survey
