We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
 

This role is responsible for comprehensive activities associated with preparing, reviewing and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to reporting and procedural standards.

Specific responsibilities
 

• Involves using several subledger software packages to manage and process projects.  Recommended skills include an in-depth knowledge, or willingness to learn, Excel and basic SQL coding.  Applicants will also be able to manipulate pivot tables, use PowerPivot, or writing queries to retrieve data.
• Conducts complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects.
• Develops company position on complex transactions/new accounting guidance and communicate to senior management, standard-setting and/or regulatory organizations Identify inconsistencies and problems and works to resolve them. Ensure appropriate accounting controls.
• Leads project teams on specific accounting and internal control issues relevant to new products, major business and organizational events, system conversions, upgrades and enhancements.
• Provides leadership including functional advice and training to less experienced accountants.
• Routinely interacts with internal and external customers.
• This level is not part of the natural progression for this job series.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

-5-6+ years of general accounting experience or 5+ years of experience working in public accounting
-Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
-Excellent computer skills including Excel
-Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
-Excellent analytical skills
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
-Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills
-Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines:  Accounting, Business, Finance

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Preferred:Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
