Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Only nursing students who have completed nursing fundamentals and have one clinical rotation will be considered.

Assists the nursing staff and patients with basic care needs, implementing orders, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility. Reports directly to the charge nurse and Clinical Director of the unit. This position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. It collaborates with various members of the healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum. Requires the ability to be self-directed and quality-focused. Interpersonal communication skills are a necessary function of this position.

This program offers select nursing students a comprehensive acute care experience with diverse educational opportunities.

2 Cohorts:

Group A starts on May 20th

Group B starts on June 3rd

Both cohorts end on August 10

Shifts Available:

7:00 am to 7:00 pm

7:00 pm to 7:00 am

Includes some weekend shifts

The shift requirement for this position is 2 - 12-hour shifts per week.

Five educational opportunities are required.  Between 1 - 4 hours, max = 4 hours paid per week

Orientation & Education Plan Week 1:

Mon: Orientation & Medical Center Orientation 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Tues: Virtual Clinical Orientation 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Wed: Self-Paced eStar 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Thurs: Clinical Orientation 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

Fri: Orientation shift (between Fri-Sat)

Qualifications:

  • Completion of nursing fundamentals

  • Completion of at least one clinical rotation
