Summary

CHS has an opportunity for a business analyst in our centralized rail transportation team, reporting to the director of rail transportation. In this newly formed role, the business analyst will lead the implementation and system enhancement projects for our rail software platforms. Utilizing proven project management expertise, transportation (rail) knowledge, a passion for technology, and a continuous improvement mindset the ideal candidate will partner across CHS ag and energy segments to coalesce best practices and system functionality among end-user logistics professionals.

Responsibilities

· Understand the enterprise transportation roadmap and support the implementation of technology and processes needed to achieve the vision.

· Requires the use of business analysis and technical skills to interpret business requirements and impacts, to ensure the optimal technical solutions are designed and implemented to meet business need

· Facilitates partnership meetings with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of their delivery, direction, and SLAs to the business needs.

· Ensure delivery milestones are established and tracked, and delivery progress is forecasted and communicated to the appropriate teams

· Review progress toward goals on a regular basis by determining specific metrics that the team should gather and report.

· Build trust with stakeholders by delivering incremental value critical to achieving goals.

· Works with subject matter experts to determine the gaps between the business needs and what the systems are capable of doing, as well as estimating and maintaining the scope of projects

· Recommends optimized business processes across the full value-stream.

· Coordinate with CHS procurement and legal teams to achieve competitive contract terms

· Appropriately manages customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budgetary parameters.

· Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of experience in Information Technology and/or IT Business Systems

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with rail technology highly preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience with rail technology platforms
  • Bachelors Degree in related field
