A Day in the Life
As the Strategic Sourcing Program Manager, you will be based at Medtronic’s Danvers, MA manufacturing site, directly leading Operations Sourcing for the Medtronic Danvers Campus. You will manage, identify, implement, and align global sourcing strategies, initiatives, supply assurance, risk mitigation, sourcing continuous improvement and productivity programs, and global supplier network capabilities for commodity materials to achieve business objectives.The Danvers, MA, Site is on an exciting journey to becoming the Center of Excellence for Braiding and Extrusion, a transformation that will significantly impact our operations. The site spans three buildings, 200k sq ft, and has more than 800 employees. It supports over $4B of revenue across 11 Operating Units and 12 vertically integrated sites for Medtronic worldwide. With their work, our manufacturing employees transform the lives of 2.2 patients every second, building components, complex subassemblies, and finished goods crucial for patient care.

As the Strategic Sourcing Program Manager, you will collaborate with the Global Supply Management functions to support developing, implementing, and deploying material strategies and productivity improvement programs to achieve Operating Unit and Manufacturing Network objectives.
You will:
Ensure raw material supply continuity and manage any escalations that impact raw material supply to the site.
Drive and lead negotiations with suppliers regarding cost reductions and identify the site's raw material cost reduction opportunities.
Supports value stream cross-functional teams in developing sourcing strategies/programs for materials where standardization/aggregation will yield significant savings or process improvement.
Develop and implement Operations Sourcing programs to boost supplier delivery performance, as measured by Supplier On-Time in Full metrics.
Conduct supplier production capacity reviews, identify potential risks, and drive mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
Drive Last Time Buy activities and Strategic Inventory Purchase activities to ensure continuity of supply.
Drive improvements in Operations Sourcing standard work around functional excellence and zero-loss mindsets, supporting Raw Material Inventory Optimization programs for all sites within the value stream.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with Suppliers, Operations Scheduling, Supply Network Planning, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations Quality, Category Management, and other internal stakeholders.
Foster a continuous improvement and lean culture to drive advancements in the supply base regarding quality, cost, and performance, as well as supporting business objectives.
Participates in the establishment of strategic and operating plans, budgets, goals, and priorities and the formulation of strategies, organizational policies, and operating procedures for the respective Operating Unit
Must Have
A Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant supply chain experience is required, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant supply chain experience is required.
Nice to Have
Expert understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems. Full working knowledge of eSourcing Tools, including catalogs and eAuctions
Demonstrated ability to produce cost savings/value in contracting, ability to negotiate, develop, and administer contracts
Microelectronics experience and Materials Science background
Six Sigma Black or Green Belt & Lean manufacturing background
Experience in leading and influencing negotiations, project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving analysis, strategic thinking, and collaborative team building
Exposure to supply chain, planning, purchasing, materials, and inventory control environment
Solid computer skills: i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project. Advance
