Description
The Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS), Texas A&M University (TAMU), invites applications for a temporary Senior Professor position at 0.20 FTE (11 months per year).
Position Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility (90% effort) is to mentor graduate students and collaborate with VTPB food animal microbiology faculty, including providing review and feedback on research proposals and contributing to collaborative grant proposal development and research projects.
Additional duties (10% effort) include departmental service, such as serving on committees as assigned.
The position does not involve any didactic teaching.
Applicants must be committed to a team-oriented environment and possess excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with trainees, faculty colleagues, technicians, and staff. In addition, faculty members are expected to commit to holding themselves and colleagues accountable to the VMBS code of professional conduct.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· DVM degree
· PhD and training/hands on research experience in food animal microbiology and epidemiology
· Track record of grantsmanship
· At least 20 years of experience mentoring graduate students as a faculty member
