Role Overview:

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all quality assurance and control activities across incoming inspection, in-process and final acceptance, warranty processes, supplier performance, calibration, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. This role ensures the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS), drives continuous improvement, and is accountable for KPIs tied to quality performance across all functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Compliance

  • Oversee incoming inspection, First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process checks, and final acceptance.
  • Participate and support the PPAP submissions and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain calibration processes for all measurement equipment.
  • KPIs: Inspection accuracy %, calibration compliance. 
     

Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead corrective action investigations (8D, 5Y) for customer complaints and supplier issues.
  • Analyze reports and data to identify process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives across quality processes.
  • KPIs: Corrective action closure time, recurrence rate, process improvement implementation rate.
     

Warranty & Returns

  • Manage Return Material Authorizations (RMA) and warranty processing.
  • KPIs: Warranty claim resolution time, RMA turnaround time.
     

Non-Conformance & MRB

  • Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material rejections.
  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • KPIs: Non-conformance closure time, MRB cycle time.
     

Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Address customer requirements through APQP and new product development activities (control plans, quality objectives, training, corrective/preventive actions).
  • Manage customer quality agreements and contract reviews.
  • Handle customer escalations and quality-related issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive improvement initiatives.
  • KPIs: Customer complaint rate, supplier defect rate, on-time corrective action completion.
     

Audits & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage internal audit program and support CSA, UL, REACH, RoHS, ISO audits.
  • Coordinate 2nd and 3rd party audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • KPIs: Audit compliance score, number of non-conformities per audit, timely closure of audit findings.
     

Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead daily quality meetings and facilitate department activities.
  • Report monthly quality metrics and planned actions for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise quality technicians across all buildings and manage training programs.
  • KPIs: Team performance metrics, training completion rate, monthly quality goal achievement.
     

Other Duties

  • Promote a safety culture and lead by example.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
     

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or related undergraduate degree
  • 5 years of experience with quality systems (ISO 9001)
  • Proven project management experience
  • 4 years’ experience with Advanced Quality Planning (APQP)
  • 4 years’ experience with Quality Core Tools (FMEA, SPC, PPAP, MSA, APQP)
  • ASQ Certification

 

Pay range: $113,300 - $150,706/year

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
