As Wayfair scales rapidly over the next few years, the need to build best in class processes and tools for our associates and customers also grows! As the Senior Associate, Process Engineer, you will play a key role in developing solutions to foundational processes that will help our stores run more efficiently and effectively. You will help with the day-to-day direction and support to cross functional teams within the retail, product, and engineering teams. This role serves as a key partner to the Sr. Manager of Process Engineering as we work together to evolve our working processes that are dependent on our current app platform.                                                                                                                                                                                                              

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Wayfair Fulfillment Network tech/engineering teams in the journey to streamline the foundational processes for Wayfair store operations 
  • Collaborate closely with store management, associates and tech/engineering partners to ensure that solutions to operational processes are clearly outlined and communicated in a compelling way
  • Develop and maintain high level of knowledge regarding store operational processes and procedures through strong relationships with store team 
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and collaborate in the creation of training materials  to onboard internal users to new tools and processes  
  • Partner with Implementation Team on time studies on store pilot/test programs that help in the evolution of key tools and apps 
  • Represent the specific tech and operational needs to help associates achieve high adoption and engagement in cross functional meetings 
  • Balance long-term and short-term needs and priorities in line with overall physical retail expansion roadmap

What You’ll Need

  • 2+ years professional work experience in business planning, organization and process management, process improvement, marketing or operations
  • Demonstrated experience building a new process or product and delivering against goals in a fast and rapidly evolving environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and verbal and written communication skills - ability to break down and communicate complex ideas and influence senior level and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams, including product management, engineering, product design, and/or inventory analyst
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects to completion across organizational lines
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and engage deeply with other stakeholders across multiple teams to accomplish what needs to be done in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment 
  • Technical acumen to learn necessary software; experience with Google Cloud G Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides and forms preferred.

Qualifications And Special Skills Preferred

  • 5+ years of retail or operations experience.
  • 2+ years of product management experience
  • PMP/Project Manager certification (Lean six Sigma, etc.)
  • Experience in startups/new product or process development
