In order to accelerate the migration to the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) and enable early engagement with the automotive OEMs, our strategic objective is to develop system and Software expertise on overall SW Architecture covering E/E architecture and Vehicle Architecture like SDV
Role and Responsibilities
This role has a primary objective to contribute to a new System and Software architecture organization at NXP. The objective of the System and Software architecture team is to build expertise at system and software level within NXP and to engage with the OEM advanced engineering team to offer SW Products through a scalable Vehicle SW Platform relying on sub-systems and Applications where NXP is building system expertise. Such sub-systems are leveraging NXP expertise and portfolio in processing, networking, power management, security and safety as well as all Domain Applications such as ADAS, eBody, Connectivity, Propulsion & Dynamics, Electrification.
The specific role here is for a System Software architect Lead experienced in EE and SW Architecture who has been involved in the early definition E/E & SW architectural system engineering work with an automotive OEM.
Job Summary
- Understand System and SW architecture trade offs and how they are impacted by NXP products – e.g. network topologies, functional safety, wake-up times, communication latencies, security, power distribution & management, etc
- Use this E/E & SW architecture understanding to define SW Architecture of new NXP Software products relying on our global Portfolio including processors, power management, Networking, Connectivity
- Engage with OEMs to define POC studies showing the benefits of NXP products and Solutions at System and Vehicle level
- Work with tools vendors and SW Partners to define Vehicle SW Platform solution enabling SDV Customer journey and seamless integration of our products
- Engage effectively with OEM to build strong technical and management relationship; positioning NXP as the trusted partner for automotive HW and SW solutions for E/E & SW architecture & understanding the different OEMs vision for future car SW architecture
- Collaborate with NXP technical and product teams to define and implement an overall SW solution positioning; with associated collateral
Core Competencies
- Experience of SW architecture definition and development
- Knowledge and experience of tools used for SW architecture definition, development and Integration– understanding tradeoffs, different Runtime, and key performance metrics of the OEM
- Strong track record defining SW Architecture at Vehicle level on various runtime such as RTOS and HLOS
- 10 years+ experience in Architecture with 8 years+ in automotive market
- History of engagement with automotive Tier1 and/or OEM
- Experience in software and system solutions that enable car architecture evolution
- Strong business and technical acumen, customer focus/ external orientation
- Excellent communication and influencing skills – written and verbal
