$23.06 - $32.29The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:
The Apeiron Project’s Program Experience Specialist with University Student Life (USL) is a pathways program designed to provide a guided internship, mentorship, and networking opportunity for recent graduates of the University of Rochester interested in pursuing a career in the Higher Education and Student Affairs professions. Reporting to the Chief of Staff of University Student Life, this position will offer experience in the areas of strategic planning, data collection and analysis, marketing and communication, and student engagement / retention.Applicants must be a current graduating senior or graduating fifth-year student at the University of Rochester willing to commit to a one-year position beginning immediately after their commencement. Current Handler Scholarship students are encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Planning:
- Assists in the ongoing development of the strategic plans of USL.
- Supports the Chief of Staff in the planning and preparation of monthly strategic planning meetings.
- Conducts periodic benchmarking of student affair units at our peer institutions.
- Keeps up to date on research published in student affairs and higher education journals. Provides an overview of relevant research to USL leadership.
- Periodically shadows USL Senior Leadership in all divisions to gain a broad knowledge base and understanding of each area throughout the fellowship.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Assists with the development, implementation, and analysis of a variety of assessment efforts.
- Works with leaders throughout University Student Life to create evaluation tools which measure the effectiveness of a variety of interventions, programs, and services.
- Leads the development and implementation of undergraduate and graduate student focus groups to solicit feedback from students and student leaders on a variety of topics relating to the student experience.
- Supports periodic environmental assessments/audits.
- Makes data-informed recommendations after seeking, collecting, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, needs, opportunities, and evidence of impact.
- Compiles data from assessment efforts and presents to USL leadership as requested.
Engagement:
- Acts as a strategic thought partner and culture translator to USL senior leadership as a recent graduate of the University of Rochester to cultivate a robust understanding of the student experience.
- Provides USL senior leadership a clear understanding of the current living & learning experiences of University students and identifies opportunities to best meet student need.
- Leads the development of creative opportunities to cultivate belonging, building connection, and increase a sense of community among UR students.
- Builds and maintains connections with recent graduates who are interested in continuing their support of University Student Life.
