Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.

We’re actively seeking a talented Sr Information Security Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Operations team in Newport Beach, CA. Relocation assistance will be provided. We will consider Remote for the right candidate.

As a Sr Information Security Engineer you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by planning, coordinating and scheduling penetration tests for the enterprise. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their testing requirements and communicate findings to the appropriate remediation teams. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of nine people in the Enterprise Functions division. Your colleagues will include analysts, engineers, and fellow cybersecurity professionals.

Your day-to-day work will focus on penetration testing tools and service providers along with defining testing requirements with stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking remediation and offering technical guidance.

Our ideal candidate is a hungry mid-level security engineer who has a strong interest in vulnerability management and penetration testing. Someone who has planned and coordinated penetration tests at an enterprise scale and achieved successful results. This role will provide opportunity to expand into additional areas within the vulnerability management service.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Plan, organize and coordinate penetration tests across a global enterprise.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives that increase vulnerability management program maturity.
  • Serve as technical lead for penetration tests and provide guidance to remediation teams.
  • Author, update, and maintain procedures, reports and work instructions.
  • Establish trust and business relationships with customers and other relevant stakeholders.

The experience you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience within information security that includes more than 2 years of penetration testing experience.
  • Have a client-first mindset and the ability to interact professionally with internal customers.
  • Strong ability to interpret and document test findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversight.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and executing on short term and long-term projects.
  • Knowledge of network mapping, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and Web Application testing.

What makes you stand out:

  • Relevant certifications such as OSCP/E, GWAPT, GPEN or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Online community profiles for cybersecurity training programs such as HacktheBox or TryHackMe.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the operation of assessment tools (including but not limited to Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, Powersploit, and Cobalt Strike).

You can be who you are.
