Process Safety Management Specialist (Ammonia Refrigeration)

Description

Assist with and develop PSM (Process Safety Management), ARM (Ammonia Refrigeration Management), and Risk Management programs for ammonia refrigeration facilities. Travel is required.

Develop Process Safety Information (PSI):

• Develop and update equipment schedules.
• Develop and update ammonia inventory calculations.
• Develop and update a mass and energy balance.
• Develop, update, and evaluate machine room ventilation and ventilation calculations.
• Develop, update, and evaluate relief vent piping and relief vent calculations.
• Walkdown, verify, and update piping and instrument diagrams, P&IDs.
• Identify facility Codes and Standards.

As well as:

• Develop Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs, for facilities to ensure PSM / RMP compliance and safe operation of equipment.
• Develop & conduct on-site training for operators utilizing their refrigeration system, P&ID's, and operating procedures.
• Develop Risk Management Plans, off-site consequence development, and assist in RPM preparation.
• Conduct Mechanical Integrity Inspections and give a full comprehensive report of items that are out of compliance with, and or not satisfactory to, codes and industry standards.
• Conduct Compliance Audits, prepare report of deficiencies to better assist facilities with PSM / RMP compliance and readiness.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analysis, initial and revalidations, to ensure facilities are being built to or keeping up with codes and industry standards.
• Assist with online PSMpro for facility PSM compliance documentation and preventative maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
