The Outpatient Pediatric Team at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is recruiting an occupational therapist for the AOTA Pediatric Fellowship program that will run from August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026. Qualified applicants must possess excellent communication, flexibility and time management skills, as well as a desire to implement the most current and evidence-based practice. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of multidisciplinary team members and pediatric therapists across the continuum of care, as well as across the organization. Extensive training and mentorship provided throughout the fellowship.
Responsible for assessment, diagnostic, and /or treatment services to any person when so ordered by a physician, dentist, or podiatrist. Treatment is provided through the employment of physical means such as therapeutic exercise, heat, water, electricity, massage, ultrasound, and the use of rehabilitative procedures and devices. Will assist with acute, outpatient, and pediatric populations.

YOU’LL NEED
- Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure.
- CPR Certification every two years.
- Valid NC driver's license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
- Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
- Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
- Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
- Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
- Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
- Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
