Reporting to the Associate Director of Supply Chain Contracts, this role is a strategic partner within the Supply Chain organization.  This position coordinates with business partners on supply chain contract matters, manages a complex portfolio of supplier contracts, communicates with supply chain leadership, to develop, implement, and achieve short and long term business objectives. Position leads Software Center of Excellence.

What You Will Do:

• Leads a team of contracts professionals and provides guidance to team members daily

• Drafts, generates, negotiates, interprets, and manages complex contract documents, in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect business objectives.

• Reviews work product of direct reports prior to submission to leadership.

• Performs analysis and prepares reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters.

• Manages medium-sized projects.

• Reviews contractual terms and conditions for their acceptability, as well as assessing the risk and impact. Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policies, government and commercial specifications and other requirements.

• Uses legal resources and other subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed through development of unique contract terms and conditions.

• Briefs Management and other functional areas on contract status, risk mitigation and contingency plans based on developed recommendations.

• Identifies opportunities to streamline work flow and improve quality of work product. Brings forward recommendations to increase efficiencies through use of tool or process enhancements.

• Track and report key functional metrics to improve effectiveness.

• Represents the organization on legal issues concerning contract matters.

• Provides legal advice on contractual matters and contract administration.

• Maintains historical legal records.

• Understands and has experience in software licensing and intellectual property terms.  Can advise stakeholders on those matters.

• Has experience in US Government contracting with FAR/DFARS pertaining to commercial software.

• Must be willing and able to travel 5% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience 

• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined

• 5+ years experience negotiating, reviewing and editing contracts

• 5+ years experience with digital technology agreements and software licenses

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Aerospace contracts experience

• Juris Doctorate or Advanced Degree in Business Administration

• Experience leading a team

• Experience working in large matrixed organization
