As part of Enterprise Shared Services (ESS), the Global Supply Management (GSM) organization partners with American Express (AXP) business partners to identify the right third parties to support their strategic business objectives, negotiate contracts and protect the firm from third-party risk. GSM’s vision is to offer outstanding procurement, third-party risk management and payment services to American Express colleagues.
Within GSM, the Third-Party Center of Excellence is comprised of the Third Party-Lifecycle Management (TLM) Operations, Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Third-Party Governance & Controls team, which all play a critical role in effectively overseeing third-party risk for the firm.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This position will report to the Director, Strategic Initiatives & Operational Excellence and will be responsible for leading a team of Compliance Analysts through the day-to-day operations of initiating and completing risk assessments as well as supporting the Business Units in the TLM execution for merger agreements and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate for this role has a background in third party risk management and/or merger and acquisitions project management.
They are dynamic, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adaptable deadlines as well as solution oriented and able to rapidly understand complex details and find pathways through rigorous processes.
Job Scope/Responsibilities include:
- Caring people leader with proven track record of creating followership and leading global teams, including contingent workers, in an ever-changing environment.
- Risk Management and / or compliance / audit experience in an operational capacity.
- Strong communicator and stakeholder manager experienced in quickly building relationships in a matrixed organization and across hierarchy levels.
- Analytical thinker who also understands the bigger picture behind the numbers and knows how to tell the story.
- Solution oriented with a clear focus on supporting business outcomes through creative thinking within a predefined framework.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Lead a team of FTEs and Contractors and provide direction related to the TLM Lifecycle.
- Partner with the Business Units to complete risk assessments and due diligence reviews.
- Maintain and review data related to the vendor portfolios for multiple business units and generate insights and reporting upon request.
- Support with the development of risk assessment strategies to further improve the third-party risk posture and time to market for the Business Units.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
