About the role:
As a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst for Accompany Health you will be:
- A mission-critical, early part of our growing finance team (and company)- Help to build the data assets, processes and models that will provide insight into the company’s medical expense and risk adjustment performance- Collaborate with our highly talented product, engineering, clinical, and operations teams that come from a variety of backgrounds

Responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrate mastery of SQL and BI tools (e.g., Tableau or Looker) to efficiently derive complex datasets, dashboards, and reports
  • Conduct analytics and reporting using data from payer claims, CMS files, electronic medical records, and other sources to deliver actionable  insights to various  teams (see examples in following bullets).
  • Serve as a lead member of the analytics team building out the tools and processes to facilitate engagement, risk-adjustment, and quality reporting and reconciliation
  • Support the actuarial and finance teams with the monthly financial close process.  This will include taking a leading role reviewing payer claims data and performing deeper dive analysis to bring insight into emerging financial performance
  • Support the actuarial and growth team efforts to evaluate prospective customers’ data and identify financial opportunities and risks in new contracts
  • Support our clinical operations team on patient engagement and other insights
  • Develop, implement and maintain consistent process for data quality controls to ensure data integrity and make recommendations to improve data integrity
  • Work directly with product and Engineering teams to define data requirements for payer data ingestion and data warehousing
  • Maintain clean and well-documented  code
  • Work with team-members to develop and continuously improve best practices
  • Mentor others

Desired skills and experience:

  • Required:
  • 4 to 6 years experience in healthcare data analytics or healthcare economics
  • 4 to 6 years experience with analytic and modeling tools and software (SQL, Python, PySpark, R, SAS, etc)
  • Proficiency with modern reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or similar)
  • Demonstrated understanding of key managed care concepts such as Risk Adjustment, Provider Capitation, Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG’s), Ambulatory Patient Groups (APF’s), etc
  • Ability to review new datasets for accuracy and consult with key stakeholders to contextualize data inconsistencies and the resulting impact to reporting and measurement design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
