Job Description

Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst role is responsible for the day to day payroll operations function. This includes but is not limited to supervising and working Versant’s day-to-day time and attendance processes, operations tasks such as, adjustments, one-time payments, researching and resolving customer service and employee issues/questions, handle Contract/Union/PH&W process from dues deductions through payment to vendors, etc…

The Operations team is responsible for the ingestion of data into the time & attendance systems, auditing, working with leaders and managers to process adjustments, and performing tasks and calculations that lead to the transfer of a payroll file that will result in a net payroll.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

  • Coordinate with Payroll Operations Teams, HR, HRC, Labor Relations and Business units on all time & attendance payroll matters,
  • Work with the Payroll IT team on time & attendance system issues, enhancements, and testing,
  • Manage local payroll teams and Accenture offshore team in day-to-day time & attendance operations,
  • Assist in the time & attendance processing of on and off cycle payrolls on a weekly and bi-weekly basis for approximately 5,000 non-union, union and daily hire employees and on-demand off-cycle payrolls,
  • Assist the team to address any time and attendance issues,
  • Provide time & attendance system configuration and wage & hour subject matter expertise to Labor Relations, HR, Business Units, and Senior Management,
  • Ensure Operations processes and procedures are fully documented
  • Identify, develop, and lead continuous process improvement initiatives to include proposals, project plans and charters,
  • Support internal and external union payroll audits and implement recommendations where appropriate,
  • Be prepared to support various Payroll Operations Projects in the following roles: project management, subject matter expertise, project team, or UAT design and testing.
  • Ensure payroll policies related to time tracking and earnings reported through the time and attendance system.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of hours and earnings for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal payroll regulations and tax laws, as well as company policies.
  • Support accurate payroll records are retained in accordance with retention policies.
  • Support the processing of on and off cycle payroll exports on a weekly basis.
  • Perform audits of Timekeeping activities to ensure compliance.
  • Identify data issues and resolve as needed.
  • Ensure team and employee inquiries are addressed timely and accurately and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provide time & attendance system configuration and wage & hour subject matter expertise.
