Responsibilities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop policy and procedure related to pharmaceuticals and reimbursement, business and personnel management. (40%)
Obtains and maintains credentialing and licensure for Duly pharmacy retail site(s).
Responsible for profit and loss of the retail pharmacy and other initiatives
Responsible for identifying future pharmaceutical business opportunities
Assessing work against expected outcomes: Productivity, quality, timeliness. Tracks trends and outcomes. Recommends improvements in work processes
Writing operational and production SOP’s
Leads and manages team of staff pharmacists and technicians as it relates to hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions
Maintains appropriate prescription record for each patient with required documentation. Monitors drug therapy periodically by evaluating patient medical history for significant drug interaction, adverse reaction, therapeutic drug dosages, and compliance with prescription orders (40%)
Fills and dispenses prescriptions ordered by physicians and midlevel providers
Provides counseling and drug education to patients and families including information on drug interactions. Participates in Pharmacy/Nursing education via in-service presentations, medical literature searches, and individual counseling.
Assist in documentation and completion of Adverse Drug Event forms
Participates in inventory control including purchasing, receiving and stocking medication and pharmacy supplies. (20%)
Contacts physicians and benefits providers as necessary to process prescriptions
Create and utilize cost-benefit analysis and offer therapeutic alternative selections to providers when appropriate
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
License / Registration / Certification
Licensure in good standing as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice.
Issued by State Board of Pharmacy
Level of Education
Pharm D or BS Pharm and equivalent experience
Field of Study (if applicable)
