Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer II to be based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for performing engineering activities to support planning, designing, construction, maintenance, and improvements of roadway, bridges, transit systems and utilities.
• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment, including designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and final working drawings, with minimal support from an experienced engineer.
• Leads the preparation of technical reports and project specifications
• Developing 3D models using civil design software  
• Originating technical calculations that advance the design of the project.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
• Technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education      

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 3 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Utah Professional Engineering license (PE), or ability to obtain within 2 years
• Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required for this position
• Very Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Skilled at using AutoCAD, Microstation and other civil engineering-related software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads)
• Previous work experience engineering firms, contractors or DOTs involved in design, construction or management of highway, transit or other transportation-related projects. 
• Familiarity with local design standards and agencies
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation and other civil engineering-related software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads)
